This September, HIV and sexual health charity Terrence Higgins Trust Scotland is launching a new group for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people in Forth Valley. By bringing local LGBT people together, the group aims to build a local support network for those encountering issues such as homophobia and isolation.
The group will meet in Stirling between 7pm and 9pm on the last Monday of each month, starting from Monday 30th September. Meetings are free to attend, and the friends and family of LGBT people are also welcome.
Michael Harkin, Health Promotion Specialist at Terrence Higgins Trust Scotland, said: “We know LGBT people who live in rural areas can sometimes feel like the only gay in the village. With no gay scene in Forth Valley, currently people have to travel to Glasgow if they want to socialise with others like them. Our new group will offer a local alternative, providing a safe space to make new friends and access better support. If you’re LGBT and live locally, please get in touch to find out more.”
