We have worked tirelessly this year to make Pride the biggest and best event yet! With an expectation of up to 8000 people attending this year’s event we wanted to let you all know about some important information that any person attending MUST know.
This year we have been asked to make some changes to Pride, the biggest of which is the introduction of a strict alcohol policy that applies to everyone entering the Town Gardens.
It is important that everyone who attends the event understands what they are allowed to bring in. This policy covers the entire area of the Town Gardens, not just the Bowl.
This policy is not a decision we have taken lightly and we understand this may upset some people, however, this is being placed upon us by local authorities, in order to be able to hold the event, we have been instructed to make these changes.
At any one time, a person is allowed to bring the following into the Town Gardens:
1 Box of Wine (2 litre box max)
4 x 500ml Cans of Beer/Lager/Cider
1 Plastic Bottle of Beer/Lager/Cider (2 litres max)
No Spirits will be allowed into the Town Gardens
All soft drinks / water / juice cartons must be sealed, but are not restricted
These limits will be strictly enforced, searches will be taking place on entry/re-entry to the Town Gardens, anyone attempting to bring in more than the above will have anything above their allowance confiscated.
We are also enforcing a No Glass policy this year, anyone attempting to bring glass bottles onsite will have them confiscated.
There will be an onsite bar in the Nationwide Main Stage area, these bars will be operating a strict “Challenge 25” policy, please make sure you have ID with you at all times when using the bars.
We are still able to accommodate any business wishing to have a retail stall at this years event. We have some fantastic discounts available and we urge any business who is interested to get in touch through the Pride website as soon as possible.
Swindon & Wiltshire Pride 2011 will take place on Saturday 6th Aug 2011, Town Gardens, Quarry Road, Old Town, Swindon. Check out our website for further information (www.swindonpride.com).
