Stoke Pride turns 6!

On Saturday August the 6th Stoke Pride returns to NorthwoodPark.

Now firmly established as THE Pride of choice for thousands of people from across the U.K, Stoke Pride is incredibly friendly, great value for money and showcases Stoke-on-Trentat its most beautiful.

From 2pm visitors can soak up the sunshine and atmosphere as street performers, dancers and artists mingle with the partying crowds. There’ll be two stages, food, drink, face painting for the kids, a community village and places to chill out until 9pm when the party moves to the Official Stoke Pride After Party at The Factory. As ever, entry to the festival and its beautiful surroundings is absolutely FREE

This year heading up the Main stage will be local favourite The Factory’s own Madame Faraccina who will be joined byBritain’s Got Talent alumni Tracey Lee Collins. Paying homage to the biggest act in the world right now will be an all new Lady Gaga tribute joined by well known boy band Eli-Prime (formerly Injustice), the drag showcase from Fierce Bar, up and coming singer Daniella Brooker and Stoke Pride’s very own Diane James, Cassie and the unforgettable Sandra.

Also being showcased is the very best of our local talent; bands such asPhoenixand Safron Quarterlight; sensational singers like Jade Wilkinson, Stephan Ayres and Joel Harper; and celebrated local DJ’s DJ Bouncy Ben, DJ Ibbs and DJ Scrivo. Stoke’s Galaxy Gleeks will be returning by popular demand after a knock out performance in 2010.

The event is attitude free and open to everyone who’d like to join Staffordshire’s rich Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Trans (LGBT) community, their friends and supporters in celebrating the valuable contribution that LGBT people make to our city.

Andy Murphy theLGBT NetworkCoordinator commented “The difficult economic environment this year has meant that donations have been slow. However the community support has been incredible and we are very excited to be delivering one of the best Prides ever! We are still welcoming donations and other contributions through the website”.
