Hollyoaks and EastEnders writer Rob Ellis is bringing his latest stage comedy ‘Fetish Knights’ to Manchester Pride Fringe for three nights only – starting on Monday 22 August – and will be joined by a hoard of familiar faces . . .
Starring Claire King (Emmerdale), Dean Sullivan (Brookside) and Nikki Sanderson (Coronation Street) the show has been referred to as ‘The Golden Girls meets Desperate Housewives’; the show will also feature its writer – Rob Ellis – and the wonderful Anthony Crank. Set in the fictional ‘men-only’ basement bar ‘Associates’, where dark secrets abound, one wonders what the regulars would do if word leaked out that they were more concerned with “quiche and Corrie” than “whips and chains”! With its laugh-a-minute humour and unpredictable twists – this is definitely a play that will keep you on your toes.
Jackie Crozier, festival director of Manchester Pride said: “Fetish Knights has an all-star cast and a fabulous writer behind it. From only reading the blurb it is clear to see that this is one not to be missed: we cannot wait to give it a watch this August!”
The show’s director, Ian Townsend said: “This is really fast-paced, high octane stuff! Hold onto your Quality Street, strap in and brace yourselves for an evening of theatre you’ll never forget!”
Fetish Knights runs from August 22 – 24 at 7:30pm, at the John Thaw Studio Theatre at Oxford Road’s The Martin Harris Centre. Tickets are available at www.quaytickets.com at £8 (£6 concession). Donations will be made out to The British Heart Foundation, The Macmillan Nurses and The Manchester Pride Fringe Fund.
