Is your area meeting the needs of its local lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans community?

The Lesbian & Gay Foundation’s North West lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans strategy can help you meet the needs of your local LGB&T communities, and over the next few weeks we will be visiting Cheshire, Merseyside, Cumbria, Lancashire and Greater Manchester to let you know how the strategy can help you!

One year on from the launch of the North West lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans strategy – ‘Breaking the Cycle’, The Lesbian & Gay Foundation are visiting venues across the North West to focus on how we can encourage local authorities, lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans voluntary and community groups and strategic networks to adopt the strategy and implement its recommendations; in order to create change and improve the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people across the region.

Darren Knight, The Lesbian & Gay Foundation’s Development Manager explains: “Still LGB&T equality is not yet established as a basic right, service providers, statutory organisations and others must recognise the areas of LGB&T need highlighted in the strategy – hate crime, housing and homelessness, young people, workplace, healthcare provision and legislation – and ensure that they have the services in place to meet those needs.

“If those services aren’t in place, then we want those organisations to use the roadshow as an opportunity to find out more about the regional strategy and how it can help them meet the needs of their LGB&T communities.”

So why not come along to one of our regional roadshows to find out more?
