Heather Peace UK Tour with Special Guest Jill Jackson

Singer and actress, Heather Peace has announced that she will throw on her white Gretch guitar and set out on her first ever UK solo tour of 500 capacity venues in March/April 2011. The tour will be the first opportunity for the majority of Heather’s fans to hear songs from her album ‘This Is Me’ performed with a band.

Kicking off in Belfast on Thursday March 31st, the tour will take in another ten dates before culminating in a spectacular finale show with very special guests and an after-show party in London on April 15th.

2010 was a massive year for Heather. She was placed in the Top 40 of the Independent on Sunday’s annual Pink List and she set hearts alight with her performance as DS Sam Murray in BBC Three’s Lip Service. Throughout November and December, she also drove around the country performing her songs at 180 capacity venues that sold out within minutes of going on sale.

Singer songwriter Jill Jackson will join Heather’s band for the tour as well as performing a special support set of her own from her new album ‘Back To Zero’ (due for release Spring 2011). Jill first burst onto the UK music scene in 2003 as the front woman of rock band Speedway. Since the band went their separate ways, Jill has been making a name for herself as a solo artist. Recently her song ‘Just Not Myself’ was featured in the penultimate episode of BBC Three’s Lip Service. For Jill ‘Back To Zero’ is an album four years in the making; “This new record will be the one that defines me as a writer. It’s fun, intense and hugely personal”.

Heather adds: “2010 was an amazing year and I’m so happy to be back writing songs and gigging. There was a point in my career where I felt like I had to choose between acting and music and at the time the acting route felt right. I didn’t like the ideas that record labels had for me and I wasn’t really ready to show myself completely. The title of the current album is ‘This Is Me’ because for the first time I feel confident about the place that my songs are coming from. I can’t wait to share that with everyone on tour and to try out some new songs too.”
