Chris Morgan Defends World Deadlift Championship

Gay Games Ambassador and multiple World Champion Powerlifter Chris Morgan has successfully defended his World Deadlift Championship.

He was lifting in the World Single Event Championships, being held in Antwerp, Belgium and made lifts of 220 kilo’s followed by 250 kilo’s and then 267.5 kilo’s to win both the Open and Masters 1 world titles.

Chris was lifting in the 82.5 kilo class at a bodyweight of 81.5 kilo’s.

Speaking about the competition, Chris Said,
‘I’m delighted to have won my sixth (Open) and seventh (Masters 1) world titles here in Antwerp Belgium’.
‘This Championship has been one of my most difficult tasks for many years as I’ve been training for this last six weeks with a damaged hamstring. I’m relieved to have come through the competition without damaging the hamstring any further and look forward to being fully fit for the forthcoming European Deadlift Championships in September.’
