Belfast Pride Supports Charity Drive

Belfast Pride, Ireland’s LARGEST lesbian, gay and transgender festival has welcomed the local endeavours of two motoring enthusiasts as they attempt to raise funds for local charities through the most strangest of ways.

Little Fiat Big Adventure presents the 2010 Belfast Pride ‘TopQueer Drag Race’!

Little Fiat Big Adventure are raising Funds for a range of charities including the HIV Support Centre and the Northern Ireland Hospice by doing a ‘Drag Race’ in an old Fiat Panda that was bought for just 100 pounds!

Jim Magill & John Eltham will be visiting 7 cities in 7 days and getting 7 Drag Queens to donate an item of Drag that Jim will wear in the Belfast Pride Parade. As this seems like some sort of escapade that Jezzer, May and Hamster would undertake on ‘Top Gear’; this challenge has been named the ‘TopQueer’ Drag Race!

Jim is no stranger to automotive adventures as he has driven his panda from San Francisco to Istanbul via the Sahara in Africa and Nordkapp deep in the Arctic. So far these Little Fiat Big Adventure’s have raised over £8000 for charity.

John and Jim wanted to time this year’s fundraiser in conjunction with the Pride celebrations to prove that the LGBT community can contribute positivity to society in light of recent comments by certain local Politicians.

The ‘pit-stops’ for the ‘Drag Race’ are:

Sat 24 July – Glasgow / Edinburgh

Sun 25 July – Manchester

Mon 26 July – London

Tue 27 July – Brighton

Wed 28 July – Cardiff

Thu 29 July – Dublin

Sat 31 July – Belfast (for the Belfast Pride Parade)

Will this be an adventure too much for our intrepid explorers as they raise funds while attempting to put together the ultimate uber chic drag ensemble? Or will it look like the FIAT crashed through a charity shop window?

Come along on Saturday the 31st of July and see the Panda in the Pride Parade as John chauffeurs Jim, resplendent in his fabulous drag outfit.
